Global Healthcare in the face of rising Chronic Diseases

On December 08, 2011, Joseph Antoun, CEO of Health Systems Reform and Brian Kennedy, CEO of Buck Institute for Research on Aging, presented the latest research findings on chronic disease prevention and healthy aging. The event, titled ‘Global Healthcare in the face of chronic diseases: the can’t do attitude toward prevention,’ took place at the Mill Valley Community Center in the San Francisco Bay area. Antoun and Kennedy discussed the global burden of chronic diseases and the latest approaches to primordial prevention of age-related degenerative diseases. The speakers also shared preliminary results of a study assessing the health, economic and social benefits of a potential drug that increases healthy life expectancy.
